Ensuring that our website is easy to use and that our content is useful is what matters most on our website. The tips below will help you create more effective content and a positive user experience.

Tips:

  • Consider that our users would like to find what they are looking for quickly. Create content that is easy to scan. It is helpful to users when content is broken down into small, easily readable chunks where headlines, section headings & bulleted lists are clearly laid out.
  • The most important information should come first and not be buried under several paragraphs.
  • Content should be written in simple and clear language so that it is easily understood by all users.
  • When writing content, it is helpful to consider the following:
    • who you are trying to reach with your message?
    • what message are you trying to get across?
    • what would you like to happen after the message is delivered?
  • Write in the first and second person when possible and use words like “you” as it personalizes the website for the user
